On March 28 (Sat.), Ueyakato Landscape gardener Takahito Oka and Kana Goto of our Environmental Culture Planning Division gave a guided tour of Konkai Komyo-ji Temple for a Council for Promoting Attractiveness of Kyoto Okazaki event. They showed participants the large abbot hall and the Shiun Garden, both of which are usually closed to the public, and shared with them the experience of raking gravel patterns and pruning trees. This event became an occasion for participants to deepen their understanding of the work gardeners do in fostering Japanese gardens.
