During October 15-18, the North American Japanese Garden Association (NAJGA) held its biannual conference at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis. Michael Shapiro of the Heritage and Garden Artistry Division gave a presentation on Tairyu-sanso Garden, which has recently opened to the public, and discussed the history of foreign guests who have visited the garden in the past. The diversity of these guests show Tairyu-sanso was early seen as a place to share the cutting edge of Japanese garden design with the world.
For Ueyakato Landscape, the NAJGA conference is an invaluable opportunity to deepen our ties with others striving to spread knowledge and appreciation for Japanese gardens in North America and the world. We look forward to continuing our partnership efforts with NAJGA and other Japanese garden associations.
