Carola Platzek

An interview with the UEYAKATO president Tomoki Kato was featured in a German book "Die Lehre des Gartens" (translation: The Teachings of Gardens) written by an Academy of Fine Arts Vienna postdoctoral fellow Carola Platzek. The book traces the history of the philosophy behind gardens through covering the study of "Sakuteiki  (the oldest Japanese gardening manual)"and interviews with Japanese garden practitioners. Kato describes Japanese gardens within the context of Japanese traditional culture and the principle of the garden fostering practice.
