At the Kansai Branch meeting of the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture held October 24-25, 2020, Ueyakato Landscape gardener Daisuke Yoshikawa presented "Plant Management and Landscape Layout in Restoration Work for Special Historic Site and Special Place of Scenic Beauty, the Imperial Villa Garden Site of the Ancient Nara Capital," research conducted jointly with Nami Ogura and Tomoki Kato (also of Ueyakato Landscape) and Mr. Hirohide Ikeda of the Nara City Board of Education and Mr. Ryuji Yoshimura of Environmental Dynamics Architect. He reported on construction examples used for restoration work at this garden and won the 2020 Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture Kansai Branch Award.
