Ueyakato Landscape gardener Shigeyoshi Takemura provided a guided tour of Nanzen-ji Temple’s for a moss garden-themed event

Ueyakato Landscape gardener Shigeyoshi Takemura gave a guided tour of Nanzen-ji Temple for a moss garden-themed event for Mai Mai Kyoto and the Council for the Promotion of the Charms of Okazaki Area, Kyoto. On Nanzen-ji Temple’s grounds and at Nanzen-in Temple, he introduced a wide range of moss varieties from his perspective as the gardener giving them their daily care. Using magnifying glasses and microscopes, participants observed this little world. It became an opportunity for participants to experience how to enjoy a garden from the vantage point of its moss.
