Ueyakato Landscape Gardener Yosuke Ota wins a 2021 Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture Kansai Branch Award

At the Japanese Institute for Landscape Architecture’s Kansai Branch convention held on October 30-31, Ueyakato Landscape gardener Ota Yosuke presented “Changes in the Higashiyama Forest Landscape and an Outline of its Future," for which he was awarded a 2021 Japanese Institute for Landscape Architecture Kansai Branch Award.
In his presentation, Ota reported his studies into Mt. Kiyomizu’s forest layers based on follow-up surveys taken for saplings planted since 2008 as part of the Council for Kyoto Traditional Forest Culture’s Project for Improving the Higashiyama Forest Landscape's Forest Physiognomy.
