To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Japanese Garden Society UK (https://www.jgs.org.uk/) held its 2020 annual conference online. At the conference, Ueyakato Landscape president Tomoki Kato gave a lecture on his personal philosophy of "fostering" Japanese gardens, wherein beautiful scenery is continuously nurtured by balancing the garden's preservation with people's use of it in value-adding ways. In the future, we shall continue actively pursuing opportunities to share our belief in "fostering" Japanese gardens.
