The “Oku-no-niwa” (Interior Garden) at Hoshinoya Kyoto, managed by Ueyakato Landscape, was featured in the Japan Television/Yomiuri Television travel program “Toku e ikitai” (I Want to Go Far).
Together with program guest Mitsuomi Takahashi, Ueyakato Landscape gardener Yasutomo Inoue introduced the traditional technique and playful spirit in our gardeners' arrangement of the Oku-no-niwa so that its garden scenery fuses together with the Arashiyama area and its famous autumn maple leaves.
This program, which was born after the catchphrase “Discover Japan” became popular in 1970, welcomed its 50th anniversary this year.
